While putting together the re-release of “Through”, Michael had been doing a little writing and wanted to try and capture some of those songs into a more urbanesque influence, thus producing the Studio72 Sampler2003. This six-song EP features those urban acoustic tunes plus a bonus sneak-peak at the two-person sound of Michael Miles with drummer & percussionist Jim Orvis.
Michael had originally been planning to go down a more urban-acoustic approach to music, with a sort of “David Gray” flare, using samples and loops with an overall acoustic sound. This CD captures a bit of that effort.
